This tour takes you through the entire Oregon Coast, from Astoria to Brookings, with the addition of Crescent City and the Redwoods National Park in California. It is designed for all levels of physical ability, with time given for either hiking or relaxing in the beautiful scenery. The itinerary is riddled with free time, for you to choose what you want to do with your time. The day by day itinerary found below specifies many of the tour highlights, but there are scenic stops not listed. After this tour, you will have seen all the Oregon Coast has to offer!
Day by day
Day 1
Portland International Airport
Astoria, OR
Seaside, OR
A bus will pick up the group at noon from Portland International Airport, and we'll start our journey to Astoria, OR, where we will ride the Astoria Riverfront Trolley before heading for Seaside, OR. Enjoy free time on the promenade before we check into our hotel on the river, a 10 minute walk from the beach.
Day 2
Ecola State Park
Haystack Rock/Cannon Beach
Tillamook Creamery
Lincoln City
Newport
This morning, we will start by visiting Ecola State Park, then stopping to see the infamous Haystack Rock, before going to the Tillamook Creamery for lunch a self-guided tour. After lunch, we will leave for and Cape Meares and Lincoln City. We will overnight in Newport for two nights.
Day 3
Yaquina Head lighthouse
Oregon Coast Aquarium
Free time in Newport
We'll start out by visiting Yaquina Head lighthouse and the Oregon Coast Aquarium as a group, then you have the freedom to roam around Newport to visit the beach, the shops and restaurants at your leisure.
Day 4
Cape Perpetua
Thor's Well/Spouting Horn
Heceta Head lighthouse
Coquille River lighthouse
Port Orford
Gold Beach
After breakfast, we will leave Newport for Cape Perpetua and Thor's Well and Spouting Horn. Before lunch, we will have the opportunity to hike to Heceta Head lighthouse, or just enjoy time on the beach if you don't feel up to an uphill walk. After lunch, we will see another lighthouse; the Coquille River lighthouse. On the way to our overnight city Gold Beach, we will stop in Port Orford for amazing views and a fresh fish dinner.
Day 5
Whaleshead Beach
Brookings, OR
Redwoods National Park
Crescent City
Rogue Valley International
Medford Aiport
The final day of our adventure has us taking off towards Redwoods National Park in California, and on the way we will stop by Whaleshead beach and Brookings, OR. Brookings is the final destination on the Oregon Coast. After a pleasant scenic drive through the Redwoods National Park, we will circle back to Crescent City, CA to have lunch before transferring to the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport. We will be at the airport by 2:30pm.
